The physicians at Georgia Neurological Surgery & Georgia Comprehensive Spine, with locations in Athens,
Royston,
Toccoa,

Winder, are board certified / board eligible neuro - spine surgeons who have undergone extensive medical and neurosurgical training. Through continuing education, our physicians stay abreast of new techniques and developments in the neurosurgery and spine surgery specialties.

Cristian Jaliu, M.D.
Board certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Fellowship Trained Pain Management
Dr. Cristian Jaliu completed his residency
in PM&R at UT Southwestern Dallas and
his internship at Columbia-affiliated
Bassett Healthcare in New York. He
completed a fellowship in pain medicine
at John Peter Smith / UT Southwestern
Dallas along with a fellowship in
sports medicine with an emphasis on

John V Cuff, M.D.
Board Certified Neurosurgeon
Dr. John Cuff earned his medical degree
at the University of Pittsburgh School of
Medicine. He completed an internship
at Wayne State University School of
Medicine in Detroit, a neurosurgical
residency at University of Rochester
Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester
and additional neurosurgical training at the Bowman
Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University.

Kimberly P. Walpert, M.D.
Board Certified Neurosurgeon
Dr. Kimberly Walpert earned her
medical degree at Tulane University
School of Medicine. She completed
a general surgery internship at the
University of Tennessee at Memphis
and a neurosurgical residency at The
University of Tennessee and Semmes-Murphey
Clinic in Memphis.

Bryan B. Barnes, M.D.
Board Certified Neurosurgeon
Fellowship trained Spine Surgeon
Dr. Bryan Barnes earned his medical
degree at The University of Connecticut.
He completed a general surgery
internship and a neurosurgical residency
at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Barnes
completed a fellowship in spine surgery
in the Department of Neurosurgery at
the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest

Ted Jacobs, M.D.
Board Certified Neurosurgeon
Dr. Ted Jacobs earned his medical degree
at Brown University. He completed a
general surgery internship at Yale-New
Haven Hospital, and a neurosurgical
residency at the Medical Center Hospital
of Vermont and Brown University, Rhode
Island Hospital.

Dr. Harlan Bruner earned his medical
degree at Columbia University. He
completed a general surgery internship
and a neurosurgical residency at
Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He
completed a fellowship in spine surgery
in the Department of Neurosurgery at the Medical
